1. What are the rules governing access to work?
You get free access to stay and work in France under the freedom of movement within the European Union (Articles 39, 49 and 55 EC Treaty). You are therefore exempt from residence and work permit. You can live in France under a valid passport or an identity, and work without having to seek prior permission to work.
