Sandi received her BA in Elementary Education from Mercyhust College in Erie, PA. A few years later, her son was born profoundly deaf. This launched Sandi on a new journey. She went on to earn a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA and set upon a mission to give her young son an early advantage in learning language and other readiness skills he would need for school. Nonna and Me products were originally created for Sandi's first grandchild. This bright and happy little girl was born prematurely and was experiencing some developmental delays in language. The “Nonna and Me ABCs” DVD and books helped her in the development of these necessary language skills. Sandi currently lives in Tucson, Arizona with her husband, two children, and three grandchildren. The Nonna and Me venture is truly a family affair, dedicated to assisting parents by providing them with quality materials for their little ones to learn particular readiness skills needed in the kindergarten classroom.

After studying a variety of geometry concepts, our class read Grandfather Tang's Story by Ann Tompert. The story utilizes tangrams which are ancient Chinese puzzles that utilize seven geometric pieces referred to as tans. When creating illustrations using tans, all seven pieces must be used, they must touch, and they may not overlap. After reading the story, the students created their own stories that utilized a minimum of five tangram illustrations.
