若干、手段の目的化的な印象がする。スキップリンク回避の手段として(ほかにもユースケースは提示されてるけど ads を aside で括るのと似たようなケチもつきそうな気がする。)、わざわざ "main" 要素を新設する必要があるんだろうか?そうでなくても、但し書きだらけで煩雑になった HTML にまた新要素?すでに情報の混乱も目立つし、誤用も増えそう。

We renamed the specification 'HTML5' " とか、何で Web Applications 1.0 の方をそのまま使わなかったんだろう?とか、ツッコミどころ満載。相変わらず、Hixie 目線、目先志向でアドホック、しかも後方互換重視も後日の足枷になり得る。
