"From 2 December, customers who buy a physical copy of a movie, on DVD or Blu-ray, in Tesco stores will get access to an online version of same film available to them in perpetuity, to stream to devices including PCs, Macs, iPads and, later this month, the Xbox 360.

"Customers must use Tesco Clubcards for their DVD purchase, and have that Clubcard linked to their Blinkbox account. Once this is completed, all eligible movies bought from Tesco will appear in that customer's online library at the Blinkbox website."

I suspect this is just the start of using Tesco Clubcard credentials to act as an identity that can be used to access an increasing number of own-brand and partner services.
