Backing Bruce Springsteen on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night was a near-surreal experience for The Roots drummer ?uestlove. "During rehearsal, when the producer said, 'Ladies and gentleman, 'Because The Night' with the Professor and Little Steven, here's Bruce Springsteen and The Roots' — I couldn't move," ?uestlove tells Rolling Stone. "And they were looking at me like, 'Okay count the song off.' And I was like, I said, 'Holy shit. I heard that.'"
He adds: "I mean, I've done some intense playing on our show, but that was the most intense playing I've ever done. He completely surpassed any expectation I've ever had for any mythical god of rock figure."

The revenue and profits of 19 Entertainment have grown even more quickly, according to the financial statements of CKX. Its revenues from “American Idol” alone grew to $96 million last year from $67 million two years earlier, with gross profit margins expanding to 77 percent from 69 percent in that span.

For those who do not take note of the corporate logos on mouthwash, allergy medicines or artificial sweeteners, all three products are manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, one of the country’s pre-eminent consumer goods companies.

Black Entertainment Television founder Bob Johnson is taking another crack at launching a channel for urban audiences, but the business model he has in mind is based more on the Internet than on television. Johnson's idea is that his new venture would not license or acquire programs but would form partnerships with producers, who could buy blocks of airtime and sell their own advertising for a revenue split. "The intent is to do something really innovative and not duplicate what I did at BET or even the traditional broadcast model," said Johnson. "I don't know if it will work, but I'm willing to give it a try.
