Sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Family Search Labs states that it showcases "new family history technologies that aren't ready for prime time." The Record Search section provides access to millions of historical records for clues about your ancestors. If you click on the map you'll get a list of records that they are inputting for that geographic area. You can also search based on what you know about an ancestor. Please note that not all records resources can be searched by surname yet. Some are still in a browse only state. Some resources have images of the actual records. Other resources are only indexes. Check back regularly since they are constantly adding new resources.
