When you are planning your wedding, you want to make every dollar in your wedding budget count. That starts with determining how much money you will have available to spend.

This short video outlines 7 simple steps you should follow to determine your total wedding budget.

Knowing your budget amount is an important first step. But hold on a minute!

Before you rush out to get quotes from wedding vendors, wouldn't it be useful to know how much other couples have actually spent on similar wedding purchases in your area?<!--more-->

Your Wedding Budget vs Real Wedding Costs

That's where our wedding cost estimator tool really shows how much more useful it is than a typical wedding budget calculator.

The cost estimator makes it easy to research pricing on almost every item on your wedding budget checklist with just a few mouse clicks.

What makes this tool unique is that instead of using vendor prices, it gives you costs based on other couples actual spending, so you can easily see how your wedding budget relates to real wedding costs.

Armed with that information, you will be in a better negotiating position with wedding vendors, and help you to make more confident, value-based buying decisions. That's a whole lot more than any wedding budget calculator will give you.

But don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself here.

Any calculator can do the math. You'll see why I'm convinced this is the only wedding budget tool you'll ever need.

Planning a wedding can be a full time job. If you're a busy professional, the moment you said "Yes!", your work week doubled.

In this article, Meredith Lepore, writing for The Grindstone, cites examples of how others have handled planning their wedding and career at the same time without losing their sanity. It's a short, but quite interesting read.

"Planning My Wedding Almost Cost Me My Job"

When it comes to wedding planning, there are all different types of brides. Some are armed with large folders full of ideas. Some have nothing written down on paper, and are seemingly clueless. Others are very meticulous and well organized.

The one thing most brides do have in common is that they have difficulty visualizing how all of the elements of their wedding fit together in a cohesive way.

Business professionals use storyboards as a way to visually organize a project from start to completion. In planning a wedding, every bride-to-be can also put them to good use.

Create Your Own Wedding Storyboard

Without a doubt, the online evolution of physical storyboards is Pinterest. It has quickly become the fastest growing social media site around, as well as an online destination for everything about weddings.

Even if you are not using it now, as a busy professional, your will quickly understand why it's a valuable time-saving tool to have in your wedding planning arsenal.

More and more brides I am working with share their ideas with me via Pinterest. This article and slideshow offers some good tips for how to effectively organize and use Pinterest in your wedding planning.
