Interesting display of pomp and pagentry over the lowering of flag. Each side takes it seriously and it invokes patriotism in the hearts of its citizens.

This story makes sense now, years after my first visit to India. I was shocked at the lack of essentials such as basic sanitation standards, reliable electricity supply, proper walkways, traffic rules and the list just continues. These were lacking in Bangalore, which is the IT outsourcing hub of India and attracts much of the FDI. Some would consider it one of the more progressive of cities. It's hard to understand why something so basic seems so difficult to achieve. If the Private enterprises can provide these facilities, why can't the Gov? As the article says, India's economic growth is the more impressive, as it is striving in spite of the lack of leadership from its Gov. Unfortunately if this continues, India will turn into a capitalist state, where the rich get richer at the expense of the weak and poor, who have no alternative or support from the Gov.

Hosting and using unsecure Wi-Fi is just asking to be (cyber)attacked. It is akin to leaving the front door opened. We wouldn't do that and yet, we put our personal/confidential information at such risk. Protect yourself against malicious attacks by avoiding unsecure Wi-Fi completely. Sometimes a freebie cost more than we're willing to pay.
