Evaluating web pages for accessibility. First step in sensitising people to making the web accessible. Step two is teaching them how to fix the problems they find (providing text alternatives to audio & image content, making a no-flash website version, ensuring links and forms are easily navigable)

Amazing tool - allows me to see how a site renders in browsers I don't have installed on my system (most importantly, IE 5.5 and IE 6). I just learned last week that on IE <= 6 my professional site looks 'orrible.

Joel Spolsky's take on the IE8 decision to go with "standards mode" by default. The issue is not black & white. I have no sympathy for Microsoft who have put web developers in the position of needing IE hacks to make pages work everywhere.
