I gave a presentation on Monday evening to the Association d'anciens élèves de Supelec on the history & goals of free software, and its interests for companies & individuals.

Classic talk from MJD (of perl fame) on how to organise a 3 hour conference tutorial to be successful. Have frequent sync points, drop the introduction section, keep old slides around and call them the "value added appendix", let people out in time to get the best cakes at break time, and above all, end on the last slide (you can skip a bunch if you're running out of time, people won't mind, but if you don't end on the last one, they feel robbed).

Great entertaining presentation (and importantly, thoughtful and thought-provoking) on "intangible value". Definite lessons to learn for the software freedom movement.

DimDim is a free & open source webinar product and SaaS platform. It is both downloadable or usable hosted (free webinars for up to 20 participants). Would be great to see GNOME webinars using this.

Ruby HeoDown keynote - looks like a good time, I'm going to watch the video one of these days. Punchline: Stop reading Twitter & RSS, and start working on a side project.
