The Department of Defense (DoD) released its 2012 calendar year DoD Suicide Event Report (DoDSER), which details the number of suicide attempts and deaths for U.S. service members. The report standardizes suicide surveillance efforts across the military services and tracks the total suicide deaths, manner of death, and other variables.
