“Module formats are incompatible in all terms: syntax, execution environment, capabilities, dependency/path resolution, plugins, semantics etc. You want the power, goodies & standards from all. But write in just one or a Universal Module Format! Be able to convert from any format, to any other. You want a Modules & Dependencies aware builder.”

“mruby is written in C and normally compiles to x86 or ARM byte code. Here its been compiled to JavaScript, using llvm and emscripten. The JavaScript produced is compatible with asm.js, which helps your browser's JavaScript VM run the code more efficiently.”

“This compiler can compile C# into JavaScript. By doing this you can leverage all the advantages of C#, such as static type checking, IntelliSense (the kind that works) and lambda expressions when writing code for the browser. Saltarelle is not an entire framework for web application development (such as GWT), rather it consists of a compiler and a small runtime library that only contains the things necessary for the language features to work. It is, however, designed with interoperability in mind so you can use any existing JavaScript framework with it. It comes with support for jQuery, and other libraries can be used either by authoring an import library (which is just a class / set of classes with special attributes on their members) or by using they 'dynamic' feature of C# 4.”

“Jison takes a context-free grammar as input and outputs a JavaScript file capable of parsing the language described by that grammar. You can then use the generated script to parse inputs and accept, reject, or perform actions based on the input. If you’re familiar with Bison or Yacc, or other clones, you’re almost ready to roll.”

“Javascript .NET integrates Google's V8 Javascript engine and exposes it to the CLI environment. Javascript .NET compiles (at runtime) and executes scripts directly from .NET code. It allows CLI objects to be exposed and manipulated directly from the executed Javascript.”
