It highlights particular problems in the local and regional press in several countries including those already mentioned as well as Greece, Italy and Canada. Kevin: A 2010 Boston Consulting Group report says that the number of internet users in Indonesia is expected to triple by 2015. Companies that stand to benefit include internet media companies such as China's Tencent and telecommunications providers.

Kevin: The Interactive Advertising Bureau saw online ad revenue jump by 15%. What is really interesting is the jump in sponsorships. Annually, sponsorships jumped 88% with a 142% just in the fourth quater. Wow. that's interesting.

Kevin: A good look at the digital commercial success of Schibsted in Norway and how they moved to create an online classified advertising business that now brings in a majority of their revenue. It's a confident strategy. "'We weren't afraid to cannibalize ourselves,' says Chief Executive Officer Rolv Erik Ryssdal about the group's decision in 1999 to spin off an online business called FINN.no that competes directly with its papers." They have expanded beyond their Norwegian base and now are the world's third largest online classified business.

Kevin: Advertising predictions in 2011. One theme that runs throughout is that of data, whether it's measuring response rates, driving trading desks or as part of the continuing shift of TV to IP delivery. It's well worth reading.

Kevin: A good interview with Marissa Mayer of Google. She was one of their first engineers, and she talks about gender balance in the tech industry and at Google. She talks about how she into computers at Stanford. It's an interesting interview by Dan Lyons, but the answers are are good. Sharp.

Kevin: Five pretty good social marketing predictions for 2011. It appears that Groupon will probably outpace Foursquare although I think there is still room for a good location-based services company to move in. I think that Google might develop a service and move leverage it through Google Maps. That makes sense.
