I'm not going to pretend to have read all this (got about 50 in so far), but the onus to read this list is really on the people who are still making excuses to defend our current jackass of a president.

when you popularize apple, you popularize a dangerous homogeneity of single worldview and technological capability. now with a potential life and death cost. but they're brown, what do we care...

To those who said that NDAA would not be applicable to American citizens...
To those who said that because the law did not modify previous law, it meant that Americans could not be assassinated...
To those who defended the Obama administration, and his appointee, Eric Holder...
...Here is our attorney general directly arguing that assassinating american citizens without judicial oversite is perfectly constitutional.
You see, existing law never needed to be modified. Just clarified by Bush's actions and Obama's legitimization of those actions.
And here is our attorney general directly saying it.
There's no denying it.

This is kind of a good summary of some of the various issues and events that I've blogged about over the past few years. Our country is going to shit like it never has before. Occupy Wall Street has a lot of sympathy from people due to our government pulling off shit like this. It's not just the corporations that are angering people -- though they certainly help.

Yes, Obama assassinates american citizens off the battlefield with no due process. He swore to uphold the constitution which includes ""No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law"". He is as big of a hypocrite as Bush ever was. Bigger, really, for tricking people into thinking he actually respected our rights (unlike Bush).

Apparently if your mail is on a server for more than 6 months, it has less rights and can be more easily subpoenaed for the government to snoop through. I've got over 10 years email on my gmail, so I guess 9.5 yrs of it doesn't have the same 4th amendment rights protecting it as my newest 6 months of mail?
This is obvious bullshit. ISPs are railing to change the rule. The Obama Administration, OF COURSE, had said this would be an unnecessary burden on the government.
That constitution! What a burden! Wouldn't everything be so much easier for the government if no constitution existed at all?
And isn't it funny that a fucking law with "PRIVACY ACT" in the title is being used to TAKE AWAY our privacy? Modern-day doublespeak.

Hope! Change! Classifying your citizens as homegrown terrorists! Gobama!
Critics argue that this would mark most past societal reforms as terrorism. Martin Luther King? Terrorist. Woman's suffrage? Terrorist movement.
The ACLU is against this too, as is the National Lawyers Guild, Society Of American Law Teachers, John Birch Society, Center For Constitutional Rights.
The Declaration Of Independence specifies what to do in the situation of a bad government. This would make you a terrorist for following Thomas Jefferson's wishes.

Were these were the guys who held the Americans hostages in 1979? Anyway, we have the mayor of NYC now participating in acts that have landed other people in jail. I guess supporting terrorists is okay if you're part of the government. What hypocrisy. More proof that the 'war on terror' has little to do with terrorism, and everything to do with authoritarianism.

Still think we're winning this war, Democrats? Yes, the war is no longer Bush's war. Look to history. When a country wants to pull out of a war, it can do so in a matter of months, not years. This is Obama's war now, plain and simple.
FACT: The war in Afghanistan has killed more Americans during the Obama administration's 2 years and 2 months than during the Bush Administration's 7 years of war.
