Finding out just what our tax dollars are doing: Fighting a wasteful war on drugs that has cost our society more than sending every child in the country to college. Isn't it great that our society's priorities are so straight? [/sarcasm]

The CIA's been lying to the public for quite some time... "no new intelligence since 2000". Total lie. A lie paid for by our tax dollars. Still think this is winnable, neoliberals?

Yup. Our government knew Abdulmutallab might have been up to something, but the intelligence agents actually begged to NOT take away his Visa.
Yes. There was a conspiracy to let this guy get on a plane and try to blow it up. After all, if he succeeds, that's major job security for the intelligence agency, and a major political victory for anything we do in Yemen. And if he fails? They can try to use him to get to the higher-ups.
Do conspiracies have to be nefarious? I count this under conspiracy theory come true, but some might not.
As an aside, it figures that it would be a Republican who had problems with reading him Miranda rights. Uhhh, hate to break the news to you, but convictions get tossed if you don't Mirandize someone. Citizen or not, this is how it works. You want justice, do it right. Fucking idiot republicans, managing to make themselves look stupid in any and every possible situation.

Gee, with over a million people on the watchlist... You'd think we could get someone we knew has been affiliated with al-Qaeda on the fucking watchlist in time for Christmas. FAIL. 8 years after 9/11, we still can't get simple intelligence together?
And then TSA accidentally leaked passenger screening process to the internet.
Like 911, this simply has the feel of the government intentionally letting something happen so as to garner more support for the war on terror. That it happens right when we are deploying troops to Afghanistan makes it even more suspicious.
I hate it when things sound like conspiracy theories... But with the amount of money we've spent on the war on terror -- can we really be this incompetent? Jesus christ.

Interesting. And it's not like we're against the Taliban -- the Taliban were in power for YEARS before we gave a shit. I wonder if that guy I argued with a few years back still thinks this has nothing to do with an oil pipeline through Afghanistan.

Shocking revelations from the UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, who was removed from his post when he tried to talk about the torture that nobody wanted to admit was happening...
... of course now that the news is out, everyone realizes that yes, the torture happened. Canada admits we caused Canadien citizens to be tortured in Syria for 10 mos, for example. But we don't admit it, of course.
Signs point to everything in this being true, given the current track record of the War On Terror.

This is pretty gross!
Obama is flagrantly disregarding victims' rights, because it's politically convenient for us to ally with Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that almost every 911 terrorist came from Saudi Arabia.
But ohhh, we're big business buddies. So let's ignore past precedent (Boim V. Holy Land Foundation), law, the 911 famliies' wishes, and common sense... Let's block lawsuits against financing terrorism! It's about Big Business -- something neither the Democrats nor Republicans want to upset. Because money is more important than justice.
And also note that the Clinton Administration, Bush Administration, and Obama Administration have all blocked similar lawsuits in the past. Despite there being a precedent (Boim V. Holy Land Foundation) for suing those who finance terror that kills your family, three different administrations -- Republicans and Democrats -- have all blocked such lawsuits when politically convenient to do so.

And after the Taliban held him for 18 months, we held him for 7 yrs. Who did more evil against him? The US, not the Taliban. Who denied his rights longer? The US, not the Taliban. It's amazing that there are still people out there who support this "enemy combatant" made-up legal bullshit, and support Guantanamo and torture as well.
