"An extensive search of the WikiLeaks database by the Guardian by date, name and keyword failed to locate any of the incendiary allegations. It suggests this is the first case of WikiLeaks being exploited for propaganda purposes."

Someone has dumped the Wikileaks cables into a Kindle file, confusing Amazon's users and probably Amazon itself. Unlikely to last long, not least for the reason that all 250k cables have not been released yet, so the seller's description is a big lie. (It's the publicly-available torrent run through Amazon's Digital Text platform by the look of it.) In short: this is a non-story, except for the fact that consumers see Amazon as the publisher of Kindle books. Which is unsurprising, but not good.

WYSIWYG epub editing.

Lovely, apart from the anti-computer rhetoric. And the fact that I suspect it's just a photo/printer in a drawer.

"Let’s call the world we actually have now Reality A and the world that we might have had if 9/11 had never happened Reality B. Then we can’t help but notice that the world of Reality B appears to be realer and more rational than the world of Reality A. To put it in different terms, we are living a world that has an even lower level of reality than the unreal world. What can we possibly call this if not “chaos”?" (And I'm not a fan of Murakami's fiction, but I love his non-fiction). #networkrealism #realityhunger

"It is neither. WikiLeaks has a four-year publishing history. During that time we have changed whole governments, but not a single person, as far as anyone is aware, has been harmed. But the US , with Australian government connivance, has killed thousands in the past few months alone. "

"The key, though, is that democracies have a process for creating such restrictions, and as a citizen it sickens me to see the US trying to take shortcuts. The leaders of Myanmar and Belarus, or Thailand and Russia, can now rightly say to us “You went after Wikileaks’ domain name, their hosting provider, and even denied your citizens the ability to register protest through donations, all without a warrant and all targeting overseas entities, simply because you decided you don’t like the site. If that’s the way governments get to behave, we can live with that.” "
