...Meeting agendas for the Applied Innovations team are prepared, edited, and posted on the wiki (similar to what Stewart Mader described in WikiPatterns).
What about competing with Web 2.0? Hanlon noted that RBC didn’t lock down use of social media in the enterprise. Management insists that employees must to follow company policy when accessing and using social media at work. He told a story of how the RBC Facebook page had 10,000 friends. But after an email from HR was sent around, stating that it was OK to use social media in the office, the number of friends almost immediately dropped to 4,000. Coincidence?
The success of the RBC wiki is due to having a team that supports it, showcases its features and content, and which moves quickly from pilot to production. And they’re doing all of that while using the wiki. Hanlon mentioned that what’s missing is:
Broader business uptake
Designated content curators
Greater cultural pull
A larger community of practice
