The Library of Congress has a YouTube channel - and what a great resource for students and teachers. I hope this helps in efforts to get YouTube unblocked (if not, don't forget Download Helper for Firefox or Zamzar.com for downloading YouTube videos at home for use on campus): "As the world's preeminent reservoir of knowledge, we are the steward of millions of recordings dating from the earliest Edison films to the present. In addition, we sponsor events, lectures and concerts that are free and open to the public."

YouTube EDU is a collection of videos and channels from college and university partners. This is like iTunes U for YouTube. I've seen headlines that have suggested "forget paying for college - just go to YouTube."

Some YouTube videos get download option, "including President-elect Barack Obama's weekly addresses." Cool. I hope this feature spreads, especially in the wake of the recent demise of Google Video. In the meantime, there's always Zamzar for downloading YouTube. :)

Lucy Gray tipped me off to this cool way to download YouTube videos on a Mac. Apparently it is less hassle than using Download Helper on Firefox.
