Last week Wikispaces launched their new professional development services. I'm excited about the potential this represents for educators to get quality help with implementing wikis with their colleagues and students... and I'm excited to be involved in the effort as a consultant for Wikispaces.

I'm a big fan of open services (especially when they're free), but wikispaces also provides a premium service for schools wanting a little more control: "Wikispaces Private Label is a complete wiki environment for your school or district. Our powerful and easy to use system lets you create wikis for all your teachers, students, and administrators, while centrally managing them on your own customized, secure, and integrated site. Wikispaces Private Label provides wikis with unlimited collaboration, central administration, control and privacy, and full integration for your school."

Here's yet another (fast-growing) free wiki service. At a glance this one seems notable for the tools they provide to help users find wikis relevant to their interests.

A session on wikis in education that Will Richardson attended and raved about at Learning 2.0 in Shanghai. It's built on WetPaint, another cool wiki service with widgets etc.
