"OMG people would not shut up about Barack Obama's weird, mysterious birth. Did he come out of the sea borne on a giant shell? Was he found in an old tree stump burl kind of thing like in that Cranberries 'Dreams' video?"

"Many of the early pioneers of Hollywood fled the East Coast as a means to avoid the patent fees any aspiring filmmaker had to pay to that greedy baron of power and light, Thomas Edison. They forged a rogue playground of early-times movie makers that was akin to the real Wild West (except, you know, probs a lot gayer)."

One of the comments says it best: "This is...this is beautiful. This is the pinnacle, the Golden Ratio, the Alpha and Omega of Bullshitting. This is what I aspire to be. Everything I've done, all of my bullshit, after seeing this...it means nothing. I have seen true Bullshit Perfection. I weep."

Michael Phelps is in good company. They show some restraint in having all thirty-five not be rappers. There's an amusing photo of Charlize Theron taking a massive rip from an apple. The article omits Barack Obama, since presumably he's stopped by now, but check out Dreams From My Father, in which he describes himself in his twenties as a serious pothead. America is out of its mind about this issue. Legalize it!

FDR stimulated the economy by legalizing beer. Will Obama do the same with the chronic? "After all, the president-elect said in 2004 that the war on drugs had been 'an utter failure' and that America should decriminalize pot... 'I would start with nonviolent, first-time drug offenders. The notion that we are imposing felonies on them or sending them to prison, where they are getting advanced degrees in criminality, instead of thinking about ways like drug courts that can get them back on track in their lives -- it's expensive, it's counterproductive, and it doesn't make sense.'" However, most of the Dems are still with the Clintons on this, and I'm not holding my breath. Maybe in the second term?

"The single nicest tribute to the man from roughly January through November of this year came from Oliver Stone. But, post-election, post-John McCain, mid-Sarah Palin, Republicans are grudgingly, mildly complimentary of the inept man-child president they used to love. The nice thing about the Republican media machine is that they generally repeat their talking points verbatim instead of, like, reworking them to sound original." Now that is political reporting.
