I spent way too long before giving up on ffmpeg, thanks to intellectual property laws causing them to stop including certain libraries. This thing is freeware, worked right away, did Xvid AVI conversion, no watermarks, no expiration, no registration. Yay!

It also claims a lot of other useful conversions, like youtube to mp3 -- but I'd much rather use ffmpeg whenever possible, because command-line means automation.

The very last files that I need to convert are M4A. Took me a couple of tries, but I finally found a freeware converter. Unfortunately, it only does 1 folder at a time. Fortunately for me, I only have 1 folder that needs conversion.

I needed a win32 binary of ffmpeg.exe to convert 1991-ish VOC files to WAV (so I could make them MP3s, and, more importantly, hear them for the first time since the DOS days).
